John Greenslade, President of Minterra Resource Corp. (the "Company"), is pleased to advise of the following developments:

Drilling Begins on the Star Property, British Columbia

Minterra has retained DJ Drilling (2004) Ltd. ("DJ"), of Aldergrove, British Columbia, to conduct an anticipated 4,200 foot (NQ) drill program, in 12 -13 drill holes, on the Star Copper-Platinum-Palladium Property, located in the Omineca Mining Division, mid-way between the Mountain Milligan Porphyry Copper-Gold deposit and the Kemess Porphyry copper-gold mine and approximately 8 kilometres, by helicopter, from the Kemess Mine Road, Northern British Columbia. Subject to weather, a drill rig was anticipated to be on site the week of August 30^th, 2004. The program is expected to take 2- 3 weeks to complete depending on weather.

The drill program will be supervised by Ursula Mowat, P. Geo., and will test previously identified geophysical (IP) anomalies in the area. All chargeability anomalies can be traced to mineralized outcrops containing chalcopyrite (copper), pyrite and pyrrhotite and are often accompanied by very strong SP anomalies which suggests a high sulphide content. Previous bedrock grab samples from these mineralized outcrops returned values from highly anomalous copper, platinum, palladium, up to 1.1% copper and up to 1.1 grams of platinum and 1.5 grams of palladium. Sporadic values of nickel, cobalt and gold are also found in the mineralized layers. Recent geological mapping has extended the area of identified mineralized outcrops on the Star property from 3 kilometres in length to 5 kilometres.
