Mr. Mathieu began his career in Mining Exploration and Development in 1956. He has since been involved in several large mining and development projects from grass roots exploration to production. mmathieu@minterra.ca He spent four years in Rossland B.C. from 1962 to 1966 from prospecting to the eventual production of Red Mountain Mines Ltd.’s molybdenum project in 1966. He was employed as field superintendent for Highmont Mining from 1961 to 1968 during which period the Highmont orebody in the Highland Valley area of British Columbia was discovered and developed. The Highmont orebody was put into production in 1981. Mr. Mathieu supervised the exploration and development of the Carolin Mine from 1974 to 1979; including the initial development of road access, surface drilling and underground drilling. He was the company representative for 1000’ of 10’x10’ underground decline. The property eventually went into production in the early 1980’s. In 1971 he formed Scope Exploration Services Ltd. and has been president and controlling shareholder to this date. Scope is a mineral exploration services company that provides independent services to the mining industry in all facets of mineral exploration and development; from the staking of mineral claims , geophysical and geochemical survey’s, and diamond drilling, to underground mining and development. Mr. Mathieu was the mine manager at Minterra's former Lexington – Lonestar project and supervised all aspects of exploration at such project, including the completion of a 700-meter production size 10’x12’ underground decline. He also supervised diamond drilling of certain of the Company’s former exploration projects in Mexico and Peru. Mr Mathieu will continue to be involved in the exploration, development and maintenance of the company’s current prospects and any further acquisitions. |
